BACOLOD CITY is known to be the City of Smiles, and it says, people here were friendly by nature and the “Ilonngos” are the sweetest and loving community.

Well, if you want to go to this City it is best to plan ahead and maybe a 3-day stay is sufficient to make a remarkable visit of it’s famous tourist spots. My friends from here suggested to see The Ruins, San Sebastian Church, New Government City and Museum or get an overnight stay at Mambucal resort and trek to Mambucal falls, and the best time to visit is during Masskara Festival which is observed every October

However, what are you going to do if you 're coming here is just a spur-of-the-moment and you only got 12-hour?
It was said, I am only in Bacolod for a side trip because my real destination is from Iloilo City to Cebu. Yes I already have a flight booked to Cebu but at the last minute I’ve changed my itinerary to get the experience of STARBUCKS BACOLOD, that is in pursuit of my goal to visit Starbucks Store in the entire Archipelago.LOL (you may read my coffee stories by clicking here) At the same time, I planned to meet an online friend Jet, which is from this place to get to know her in person.

From Iloilo is just an hour ride by a Ferry to Bacolod  and from the pier you can take a cab to bring you to whichever destination you have in mind. Don’t worry on where to spend the night for the Internet will give you a lot of good place and Google earth will navigate you towards it.  A wise choice is a place where it has easy access to your pre-determined destination.

I arrived here at 4pm and going to the ruins is not possible anymore, so Jet suggested that we only see the New Government City of Bacolod, San Sebastian Church and of course Starbucks.

Jet and i set to met at 8pm at the Lagoon and she instructed me how to get there, good thing is from my place I can just take a walk going there.

I arrived earlier than our time set and while waiting, i walked around, seeing some students practicing a dance cheer, lovers, passersby, bystanders and Korean nationals who were like me were maybe waiting for time to pass by. I also got the chance to get a little view of the Provincial Capitol which is just across from where i stood where i also enjoyed watching the Tilapia feeders.

When Jet arrived we proceeded immediately to New Government City and make some photo shoot, after that we agreed to go to Starbucks and skipped going to Cathedral as it’s getting late already.

way out..

At Starbucks, we stayed until 12 midnight and from there they walked me through my place and waved goodnight to each other. It was such a nice meeting after all.

I have to take a rest by then, because I have a byland trip to Cebu at 4am with the Ceres Transport. I took the San Carlos route so i was able to view some sugarland in this part of Negros.
That’s it! A 12-hour keeps in Bacolod. Surely, I will plan a comeback though not too soon and this time I will make the most of my trip.

See you in my Next destination. :)

If you haven't read "The Time Keeper" by Mitch Albom yet, i must say you have to, now. As for me, i just finished reading it, and it's really a good one. The book would struck you on how well did you use your time here on earth, it would taught you the essence of time and it would leave you to ponder on what are you going to do with the borrowed time you have to find the true meaning of your existence.

Here are some of the lines and quotes in the book which i have highlighted:

~ "Learn what you do not know," understand the consequences of counting the moments."

~ "Holding on to things "will only break your heart."

~ "the sorrow of lost time became a permanent hole in the human heart."

~ "Don't get too attached to anything, including accepted knowledge."

~ "Mankind is connected in ways it does not understand --even in dreams."

~ "It is never too late or too soon. It is when it is supposed to be."

~ "You marked the minutes," "But did you use them wisely? To be still? To cherish? To be grateful? To lift and be lifted?"

~  "There is a reason God limits mans days."

~ "but a desperate heart will seduce the mind."

~ "The hands of a clock will find their way home."

~ "that tomorrow would contain a moment like today, and the next day a moment like tomorrow."

~ "Sometimes, when you are not getting the love you want, giving makes you think you will."

~ "But a man who can take anything will find most things unsatisfying. And a man without memories is just a shell."

~ "Time flies with you."

~ "We all yearn for what we have lost. But sometimes, we forget what we have."

~ :"The end is coming. What will you do with the time you have left?"

~ "letting go was natural, embracing God's will."

~ "Grab a moment or let it pas."

~ "knowing something and understanding it were not the same thing."

~ "When we are most alone is when we embrace another loneliness."

~ "Ends are for yesterdays, not tomorrows."

~ "With no loss or sacrifice, we can't appreciate what we have."

~ "There is a reason God limits our days." "To make each one precious."

I for one is guilty of counting each moment never realizing if i have spent it wisely? Yes, i viewed life as short and seize every moment of it, treat everyday as if you're last. But there was a time that i have asked
for another lifetime to make amend with the regrets of having somethings left undone in the past, my asking of what ifs and if only i could turn back time.
I would always complain about too many things to do with too less a time or i have no time for such and there's a time to beat. I would advise others to manage your time well and be flexible with the changes it entails. Yet, i haven't really checked mine.

This book "The Time Keeper" taught me a lesson or two. That, there is no time, you have this time, here, now, today! Let this pass and there's no way you can have it back. No second time!
It's worth the read!

It's my first time to try Beef siomai and combo siomai (seafood and beef) of the Master Siomai and it tastes good it made me asked for more.LOL!

from the Master Siomai

If you haven't tried it yet, i can say you have to, it came in four pieces per order and it's so affordable. It can satiate your starving stomach especially when you are in a quick break or just passing a mall for an errand.

While i ravaged three orders from the Master Siomai, here in Siomai House i contended with a single order because i was in rush and just passing by their stall.

from Siomai House
I think what drives you to crave for more Siomai is the spicy sauce with calamansi that comes with it. The chillier it taste the more you ask for it.

Having tasted that, it crossed my mind that if i have to put up a business, i would consider one like this.

What do you think?2

It's been quite a while since i've posted in this blog, much more it has already it's own domain, thanks to Rovie for this, that and all the stuff.

I haven't posted due to a busy sched recently. It's been a busy life to almost neglect an innate passion, and i remember the quote in Mitch Albom's book "The Time Keeper," "you counted the time but did you make the most of it?" Oh God, i wish i'm spending it wisely. That, I want to believed, since i spent most of the time taking care of my little Destiny, then comes my work and then promoting Destiny's blog.  And then, classes will begin soon. WHEW! my desk is such a mess and disorganized.

Nevertheless, i'm glad eXtraordinary Journey has with her own domain now.

Rain Rain go away! Come again another day! The child would chant when she would like to play outdoor but the rain.

To some would say rain is always a blessings so JOJO sung let it rain.
Then here's the Southborder inspiring the rest of the world in hoping and believing that there’s rainbow always after the rain.
But me?
I remain to withstand this cold October rain by putting on my hood.

when it rains put on your hood.

Or take a shelter under my umbrella.

when it's raining more than ever, you can stand under my umbrella

To let her eXtraordinary Journey be a worthwhile.

life is indeed a CONSTANT CHANGE. If you notice you're life is in progress then that's a good thing, you never let to dwell on the things that you cannot change. LET THEM BE and BE the person you are.

TOMORROW will always be another day. True! another day to either get on or get off with the things left undone in YESTERDAY.

and TODAY marks the beginning of an extraordinaire path i choose among the many crossroads and detours I've encountered in my so called eXtraordinary Journey.

Decisions may it painful or sweet has been carefully made.
Plans are all laid to one step at a time.
So far, i am doing Good!

Embracing what fate has stored in me

If you are afraid of falling or getting kick by a horse, would you try Horse back riding?

I guess, many of us would never dare to face their fears of that kind,
but here in Wright Park Riding circle in Baguio City you cannot resist the urge to try Horse Back riding because the ponies were tamed and trained. So get loose with that fear and lets see what else we can do or how far we could go in taking the risk of riding a pony.

For only Three Hundred Pesos (Php300.00) you will get an hour  of enjoyable Horse-back riding at the Wright park circle.

So choose your horse, as i chose mine and the owner named the horse as "Calipher"and the other one as "Cresendo".Ain't that cool? each horse has their own name.

There! albeit very apprehensive that my horse will misbehave, i somehow managed to get steady as i felt safe and secured with the hands of my guide as i kept on telling him not to let go of the rope. Until then, we have a very enjoying trail around the park and He even relate some story of the pave we are traversing, like it is also the road where Manny Pacquiao used to jogged when he has a training.

after half an hour of walking the pony also need some rest

Horse-back riding is fun and the experience is elating. If i have time i will try it once more.

What about you, how was your Horse-back riding experience?

It’s the first day of September, and the first thing that comes in my mind when i woke up this Morning is the thought of what a short notice and here comes December and until we knew it the year is over.” Whew!

So, I got up in my bed and looked around, very same old familiar room, but I am not home.
I peeked outside and I felt strange in seems to be a deserted place.
I count pace a few, there’s the windows in my cube.
But I don’t have planned to get in there today. Unless they will call me for assistance or simply for a query, anyway it’s Saturday and most people would rather stay at home for chores or on the road to chill.

the familiar room

deserted or rather lonely street

I am still thinking of what to do best today.
What about you? How will you spend the first day of September?

Advance Merry Christmas to everyone!! J
